AXA Mansard has launched a new television commercial called Life TVC with a sole aim to increase penetration of insurance in the country.
The launching which took place over the weekend at its Lagos Office, painted a picture of how a couple that took extra efforts to make provisions for the future of the children.
The TVC Commercial according to National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) represented by a Director in Commissioner’s Office, Rasaq Salami said, “We intend to believe that what we are doing will increase insurance development and penetration in the country. Today, insurance is not contributing to the country’s GDP. We have so many building collapse in Nigeria and insurance can do much in helping victims get indemnified. However, we should not patronize fake vendors in order to buy insurance. We should be able to know the importance of insurance,” he said.
In her contribution, the Director General, Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA), Yetunde Ilori said that if people really understand the importance of insurance, they can venture into any risk in business. She said, “Because the awareness is very low, they don’t venture into it. If they know that if the unforeseen happens, the insurance will be there, they will venture into more risky businesses,”she said.
Speaking about the commercial, the Executive Director – Technical at AXA Mansard Insurance Plc, Mr. Yomi Onifade stated that “We see life insurance as having a huge potential in driving awareness and increasing insurance penetration in Nigeria. As such, we must begin to position life insurance as not only a protection product but as an overall self-empowerment tool. This entails developing solutions that add value to the people while they are still alive. These we refer to at AXA Mansard as ‘Living Benefits”.
The new television commercial which it has tagged ‘Stay in the Picture’. The ‘Stay in the Picture’ television commercial is a 1-minute film which highlights the importance of having a life insurance policy and seeks to enlighten the average Nigerian on the benefits they can derive from having a life insurance policy even while they are alive.
Over the years, life insurance has been best known as a tool for protecting one’s family/loved ones – particularly during their working years when children are younger and financially dependent, to ensure that they are properly catered for in the event of one’s death.
However, life Insurance is not only key for protecting oneself from unforeseen circumstances, it can also serve as a personal financial planning tool.
